ISG Interior Designer Jennifer Jahr

From the patterns in the carpet to the colors on the wall, the work of interior designers is all around us. Supporting communities through inspired designs is ISG Interior Designer Jennifer Jahr NCIDQ, CID, WRID, IIDA . Jennifer’s passion for her work shines through every project and relationship, and extends as far back as her childhood days of creating floor plans out of tissues. An adventurous traveler and passionate collaborator, Jennifer is constantly pushing creative boundaries, and always with a welcoming, warm smile. Let’s meet Jennifer.

Why did you choose a career in interior design?

I have wanted to work in architecture/interior design for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would make Barbie floor plans by aligning folded Kleenex tissues to create walls, even leaving spaces for doors just as you’d see in modern day construction documents! Fast forward to present day, working with ISG's architecture group is an inspiring and all-around amazing experience. My favorite part is collaborating, which is the core of what we do. Great ideas are nurtured by diverse experiences and individual skills, but they get even better when they’re shared in a group. I also really enjoy thinking outside of the box and being creative – with it all starting from my Barbie Dreamhouse concepts! I love going home each night knowing that I've helped contribute to a vision that has never been made before.

In one word, how would you describe your career at ISG, and why?

Exciting. There is always something new and innovative on the horizon throughout the firm, whether it’s a potential project we are working on as a team or marketing fashioning a new way to highlight our work. There is also a strong sense of mentorship. Leadership looks for ways to help us grow, both individually and as a firm. It’s always exciting to tell people about working for ISG – how great it is, and how happy it makes me!

I know you said one word, but a really close second would be support. Everyone here supports each other, no matter our geographic location. We support our communities by being involved and advocating for quality and growth, and we also support our clients by helping them through the design and building processes by transforming their ideas into reality.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Funny timing, since I’ve recently returned from a pretty incredible vacation in Denver. I went hiking in the mountains, sipped flights from local breweries, caught a Rockies baseball game, visited with good friends, and saw a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre during the Fourth of July, which is my favorite holiday.

However, I still have several places on my bucket list – the two top places are Rome, Italy and Barcelona, Spain.

Jennifer collaborates with colleagues and communities in ISG’s La Crosse, Wisconsin Office, creatively designing dreamhouse worthy projects across the U.S.
